The Director of Clinical Education and Development is a senior clinical leadership role responsible for advancing Enjoin’s clinical education strategy across the organization. This role partners closely with Learning & Development, Physician Services, Operations, and Quality teams to design, implement, and continuously improve educational programs supporting physicians, CDI specialists, Clinical Coding Analysts (CCAs), and other healthcare professionals.

The Director will lead internal and external curriculum development, oversee training delivery and quality assurance efforts, and ensure education initiatives align with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and evolving industry best practices. This role also contributes to service line growth, thought leadership, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Education Strategy & Delivery

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive clinical education programs across all service lines
  • Develop and oversee onboarding and ongoing education for physicians, CDI specialists, CCAs, and related roles
  • Deliver internal and external training sessions, workshops, and webinars
  • Ensure educational content remains accurate, compliant, and aligned with current clinical and coding standards

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Participate in Enjoin’s quality assurance program related to clinical education
  • Monitor and evaluate education programs for effectiveness and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and clinical reliability of documentation and coding education
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Chair and participate in educational committees and roundtables (e.g., Physician Workflow, PA Roundtable)
  • Partner with Learning & Development to align education initiatives with organizational strategy
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical teams and leadership to identify and address education needs

Content Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current on industry standards and regulatory changes, including ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRGs, HCCs, CPT, and E/M
  • Introduce innovative education delivery methods, including digital and virtual learning platforms
  • Identify opportunities to improve educational methodologies, efficiency, and productivity

Client Engagement & Thought Leadership

  • Support client education related to documentation accuracy and its impact on coding, quality, and profiling
  • Participate in industry events, presentations, and speaking engagements
  • Provide detailed reporting and insights to internal stakeholders and clients

Strategic Support & Service Line Development

  • Support expansion of new consulting services and educational offerings
  • Provide clinical education support for service lines such as DRG Assurance and staffing initiatives

Qualifications
Required

  • Advanced clinical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical education, documentation, CDI, or coding-related initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of DRG management required
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, operational, and leadership teams

Preferred

  • Professional credentials such as CCS, CCDS, CRCR, CDIP, HCQM
  • Experience supporting physician education related to documentation, CDI, and coding
  • Experience developing education for distributed or remote clinical teams
  • Prior involvement in consulting, advisory, or client-facing education programs

Work Environment & Travel

  • Full-time role; standard business hours Monday–Friday 
  • Up to 25% travel required
  • Primarily sedentary, fast-paced work environment

Compensation

  • $235,000 - $275,000 annually
